One of the big stories from 2007, was the seemingly endless stream of tainted products imported from China. By the time summer rolled around we couldn’t go a day without hearing of another product recall.

We decided to address the issue in August with the launching of a Food Safety page at our FourthShift Edition web site. As a developer and supplier of enterprise software to SME food and beverage manufacturers and having almost 20 years of experience in China gives us a perspective available to few others. This podcast first appeared on the Food Safety page and I wanted to make sure it was heard by a wider audience.

For this podcast I interviewed Tim Farey, vice president and general manager of SoftBrands Asia, who has lived and worked in China for over a decade. As Tim and I discuss product safety and how Chinese companies are addressing the problems, his knowledge and experience will help you see the issues in a new light.
